Yes...... it is very possible to get into the best shape of your life if you're over fifty and spent most of those years being inactive and out of shape. However, if you were a World Class Runner back in your twenties, the answer is a resounding "No way." Our focus is to get you into great shape, healthy, and very active after fifty. Is this doable............Yes.....that is totally doable!
What We Know & Why You Will Succeed !!!!
We know that 70% of new or first time fitness enthusiasts will "quit" shortly after starting their new fitness program. This number increases significantly with New Year's Resolution goals. The problems are many...time....boredom....pain...."life".....etc...... The secret to success for those who fall into this category is to find a way to "sustain the motivation and discipline" to stick to your plan. You need to have three things in place. First you need a purpose. If you want a better life, physical movement is the "on switch." Secondly you need to plan all your workouts in advance knowing what you are going to do and when you are going to do it. Thirdly.... you need to make sure that your program is "FUN"....fits your life style and meshes nicely with the activities you like to do. "Being in great shape after 50 is easy when the above three elements are present. Couple this with activities that incorporate friends and family who want the same things and you have a winning combinations............it truly is easy and with are program you have it all.
What Does Over 50 Mean When It Comes to Fitness
It means knowing where you are in the fitness chain.....
"Your best effort at 55....65....75 is not going to be what your best effort was at 20."
We need more recovery time after hard workouts and more sleep. We take the position for people over fifty going for new fitness goals to "be realistic, patient and consistent" Just accept that it will take longer to make muscle and to lose body fat. The upside is, if you have already built a strong foundation over the years, it's not that hard to get it back. The road to success is to know with each day there will be improvement.
Whether getting back to, or starting from scratch, "optimizing the key components of fitness:
